some wounds are superficial, others deeper than they appear. there are those that can be fixed with a band-aid, others, stitches and more. they say that time is of chief importance for wounds to heal; for it to fade, and be nothing more than memory. but when you rip the stitches of old wounds apart, the initial wave of pain might seem like it hurts the most, but it is the lingering, aching pain that makes you grimace each time the wound is irritated. and you can't do anything about the pain. you just have to wait and ride it out; you can only hope it subsides soon.with each passing, the sensation of pain becomes something that numbs.on one hand, you want to rid yourself of it;on the other, you don't want a fresh wave to knock you out.and the thing is, you can't run from it.you can't run away from the pain.
